Mastering Life: Why Simmons Chiropractic Clinic?

Mastering life is about digging down to the sub-atomic level, asking the hard questions, and discovering the answers, so that at the end of the day, we can continue to stay motivated when the going gets tough. It is a bit like looking at the outer leaves of a tree and wondering why they are that particular texture, color, and taste. If you look at any live plant under a microscope, the pattern is the same as what you see with the naked eye. Human beings are no different.

If you were seeking chiropractic care, why would you want to spend your money unless you knew the intention of the people who were providing the service?

Asking the question why can help broaden the understanding, mastering life in the process. Having the patience to continue asking why results in seeing the real intentions, providing insight into the true nature of the people with which you are engaging. Dr. Jeff Kahrs tells me that typically, the number of times an individual in the United States visits a chiropractor is eight (8) times in their lifetime. The number of times a client at Simmons Chiropractic Clinic seeks chiropractic care is fifty (50) times in their lifetime.

Seriously? Without any formal advertising? Why?

Dr. Kahrs relayed that once Simmons Chiropractic Clinic went to great lengths to advertise their services, created an elaborate brochure, and an event at which Dr. Dean Simmons spoke. Not one new patient was added to their clinic as a result of this effort. The philosophy behind the clinic was, and remains, to build a relationship with their patients, and allow the practice to grow through referrals, which it has.

Answering why starts with Dr. Dean Simmons, who became interested in chiropractic medicine because of the care he received as a teenager that restored his health and ability to play sports.

Dr. Dean, as I came to know him through Network 21, cared for Dr. Jeff Kahrs in his youth, who then became interested in chiropractic care for the very same reason as Dr. Dean. They saw the value of caring for patients in this manner and were motivated to assist individuals to that same level of health because of their own experience.

Why would Dr. Kahrs want to work with the doctor that treated him in his youth? The answer to that question can be understood in the actions of Dr. Dean when Dr. Kahrs encouraged him to travel to Florida and explore training that would ultimately expand their idea of chiropractic care, which they proceeded to implement upon their return to Washington State.

Why would Dr. Dean and Dr. Kahrs want to make the effort to change the way they treated their patients? Do you know how hard it is to go against the grain, when everyone else wants to continue to do things the way they always have, which is working pretty well? Are you beginning to see the quality and quantity of effort expended to provide the very best possible care at Simmons Chiropractic Clinic?

Mastering life is about answering the question why, and continuing to ask the question over and over again, until the real intention of the actions are discovered. We live in a

flawed world where humanity does the best they can with what they know. As I mentioned in my blog on forgiveness, Maya Angelou said,

“When you know better, do better.”

Can you see why obtaining chiropractic care from a clinic that seeks to provide the best possible care for their patients, who desires to implement better practice immediately upon learning it, and whose sole advertisement is through referrals might be a better value for your investment of time and money?

Why should I care? Because Dr. Kahrs went to Kenya to share his chiropractic care with the people in the Kimana Rift Valley beneath the shadow of Mt. Kilimanjaro. Why did he do that? I will discuss the answer to that question in tomorrow’s post, mastering life by answering the question, “Why is Dr. Kahrs working with Dr. Warren Bruhl?”
