Mastering Life: Standing

Practicing yoga has instilled strength and flexibility into my posture and ability to move or stand that I did not think possible. Standing for a long period of time would become taxing unless you practice it and then provide the body with the means to maintain it through other exercises. I am much more capable of standing now with strength and dignity than I was before I began yoga. Lifting your shoulders up and back, allowing your shoulder blades to move closer together, hands down by your side with the palms facing forward, tucking under the tailbone, and standing with feet together is the proper technique for the foundation posture in yoga.
