Opinion: Reflecting on Scripture

Have you ever held a different opinion from someone you loved? Did you feel your relationship was at risk because you did not agree with them? Did you feel uncomfortable about having future conversations with them? Did you feel intimidated by any dialogue you might have around the controversial subject? Driving home  from work one evening, I was reflecting on the angst I felt in regards to this issue. I did not know how to settle my mind and heart about the disparity between my thinking and a significant family member’s approach to a particular subject. I felt the pressure to share their opinion or be cut off from continuing the relationship.
