But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. –Galatians 5:22-23 Reflecting on scripture leads me to understand that in living a life in the spirit, seeking to follow God and please Him, your life naturally exhibits certain characteristics that put you in a place above the law. The law no longer pertains to you. Laws were written to keep people in check. When the spirit of God abides in you, the law becomes unnecessary.
