Passover Seder: Understanding the Experiences of Life

Preceding sundown on Nissan 14, which fell on April 14th this year (2014), is a lot of preparation for the Passover Seder. Understanding the experiences of life has taught me that sometimes there is a HUGE amount of work before sitting down to enjoy a lengthy meal that tells the story (Haggadah, in Hebrew) of the exodus from Egypt. This year was no exception for the work involved, but what made it different is that I served the meal only for my daughter, Amy Van Mechelen, and myself, and it was completely vegan–oh, except for the boiled egg–because we include eggs in our diet regularly.
